>>8445I will explain my thoughts to you step by step, in very explicit form, since you give off the impression of being slightly dense.
This TV show was produced to achieve commercial success. This is what motivated the people who partook in the endeavour. Since the objective was very clearly achieved, I think it unlikely that the actress who portrayed the character you disliked so much or the writers who wrote the character you dislike so much would be much moved by your critique.
You could argue that commercial success should not be the yard stick by which we measure the quality of a TV production. You could go on to explain that we should rate TV productions for other qualities instead. Do these qualities, in your mind, involve personae dramatis that consist entirely of likeable, pretty characters?
So you didn't like that character. I didn't like the entire show. In my opinion, it consists entirely out of cliches, the laugh track takes up half the running time, the jokes are stale. That's why I didn't watch the show for long enough to be annoyed by Amy Farrah Fowler.
But it doesn't matter what I think, since, again, this TV production made a metric fuckton of money for everyone involved in it.

But it's not that it sucks because it's not sweet enough.
>Imagine whiteknighting for some hollywood millionaire despite claiming you don't even like the show. > claimingSo we are now beyond the point of critiquing tv-productions, we have now progressed to the stage where you tell me what I really, secretly like?
>I mean, what was your point? Again, your opinion on that ten year old show is pointless, just doesn't matter, show made money, the data is in. Things are done to achieve certain aims, and success can only be measured in whether those aims were achieved.
>And it still doesn't matter what the actor thinks or doesI was under the impression you thought it was the actors and writers job to make the character likeable to you. Otherwise, why complain that you didn't like this or that character because he/she was irritating and ugly?
Either you assume, that all characters should be likeable and pretty, this then implies that you also think writers and actors should portray them in such a way, and the actors cast should be as cute as possible.
Or you think characters may be irritating and/or ugly. But then, why do you complain about this character being irritating and ugly?
>and frankly I don't care, and that was irrelevant to the subject of that post anyway and maybe if you weren't apparently a bit slow, albeit very smug, you would understand that. You are the worst know-it-all on this board and I recognize your each and every post, you are the most arrogant person I ever witnessed in my entire live.

> is silly. Where do I admit that? It's obviously the opposite of silly, it's rational and economical. That show was produced to make money. It made a lot of money. That makes it an intense success. If you want to watch something that isn't made to name money from people watching it, watch German publicly fine bullcrap instead, that is made not to speak to the masses, but to appeal to the schmucks handing out the tax money.

i still think your argument is lacking.
on the one hand, you are kind of comparing oranges with apples, since sexual interactions are mostly limited to a few individuals while economics involves a whole bunch more - the whole population, to be exact.
granted, every analogy suffers from the problem of comparing oranges with apples, but yours a bit more compared to the previous onewe can see this problem even with the words we use:
in sexual interaction we are talking about "consent" while with governmental regulation and economics we would prolly use "consensus".
if we, for the sake of the argument, assume that current governmental regulation are because the government represents the consensus of the population, we could say that those regulations are in place, because we want them. or at least the majority wants those rules in place.
while ignoring that the majority is stupid and doesn't even know what's best for themselves, for now.now we could say rape is against the consent of an individual while an unregulated free market is against the consensus of the population.
if you think consent is important in sexual interactions, shouldn't you also believe that the consensus of the population is important regarding regulations of the market?
