Because xyz had gotten worse to a point where it could no longer be a home for us. Also the old chan had technical issues, for example the broken video preview. So some fed up Ernsts conspired behind the scenes and took matters into their own hands.
What's the platform?
We are using nginx/php/MariaDB on CentOS8, the imageboard software is vichan.
What are the costs?
About 15€/month for the server and 5€/year for the domain. And an additional 9000€ for mod salaries (luckily covered by George Soros' Open Society Foundation and Antifa GmbH). We'll put on some more exact numbers and maybe a donation link in the future - maybe.
What is the file size limit?
The current file size limit is 50MB for the sum of all files in a post.
How can I format my posts
Currently implemented tags: > for quotes **post** for spoilers ~~post~~ for strike __post__ for underline ##post## for bold %%post%% for italic [code]post[/code] for code >>>/board/postnumber for cross-board-links
Tags like [b] for big, [i] for italics, [s] for strike and [spoiler] also work
Can I say nigger here?
It's not bannable by default. Still, low effort posting is discouraged, and for mysterious reasons these things often come together. Also see the rules for details.
How can I contact the administration?
The regular way is to post on /meta/. If this isn't available for some reason then try ernstadmin at proton me. In case of a downtime you can check the radio discord, which might have information: https://discord.gg/UpXdrxG - currently EC does not have an IRC channel.
Limits
The current bump limit is 300 for /int/ and 250 for /b/. The limit for chars per post is 4000 on both boards.
