Last night I found myself thinking about the minor lessons from playing Persona so I completed my assignments early and went to bed before midnight. I woke up very early, only sleeping 5 hours and I was unable to go back to sleep afterwards.
I left for class early too after having breakfast. Modern Chinese went well enough, like I could actually talk with the teacher in Chinese and such.
When I was tasked with retelling the textbook’s story with my own words, she remarked “不错”, which is kind of okay I guess.
Afterwards a guy did the same task a lot better, and I was surprised, because his usual performance was far below. Apparently the teacher noticed it too and after saying “非常好,没有问题。” she went on to ask “你用ChatGPT吗?“ and then the guy confessed on the spot that he did.
After class I came home and had lunch and slept a bit before going back to college for an assembly meeting where we discussed the application of the current headmaster for a 4th term. Afterwards talking about minor legislative stuff or whatever. The funniest part to me was when someone actually realised what was happening and said “Wouldn’t this change essentially allow the secretary to hand-pick the members of committees?” and by God we’re almost 35 years after the fall of communism and somehow power keeps finding its way to the hands of secretaries!
Some fellow workshop members were with me throughout, one of them was working on her thesis and I remarked how it’s so cool she’s writing about the modern cultural reception of Daoism and such. We discussed how we were progressing and such.
I saw some of her work process and it was basically searching for keywords in English texts, copying out the paragraphs containing it and then translating those paragraphs using ChatGPT and that got me thinking that by the looks everyone is fucking using AI for tasks, except me and now I’m afraid that I’m going to be left behind in the race even though I feel it’d remove a sort of authenticity people expect from me. (And before you ask, after 4 years, a lot of people know my name and my style, it’d show.)
Tomorrow I plan on knocking out most of the thesis. Write the remaining two chapters I want and then assemble everything and start the review process. Then go out drinking at night. Maybe. Idk. I don’t really want to drink but I want to meet up with friends. I’ve been drinking too much recently I feel like due to the college anime screenings.

I used AI to style and mistake-check my proposal AFTER I have written it myself first. I sometimes use AI to help me with my job applications. The AI can be a little refinement help helper to me mostly
I used it for condolence suggestions in the past where my job demanded to also say something about it besides the organizing questions that were the topic of an email. I'm puzzled by people using it for big tasks like writing whole texts.
My two cents: use AI as tool that can offer suggestions to what you already have, but don't use it to do the main work.
That said I might run AI over my current job application draft an ask for suggestions, maybe even in relation to the job posting. Curious about what benefits that might yield. AI is useful in taking some cognitive load.

The exam itself wasn't too hard I think. Though I couldn't finish the essay part where they asked us to write about the "Status of women in society". 400字 lmao.
Honestly, whatever the results turn out to be I'm feeling a lot more confident in my ability to read and write now for some reason.
Funny that in the essay I resorted to basically ancient Chinese methods where I was re-writing the same sentence with a different verb and noun to stress a point through parallelisms.
Afterwards I went out to have lunch an I decided to not give a damn and spend all the money given to me and go to that expensive wienerschnitzel place and I ordered the biggest one they had with fries and I ate it and I felt like a king honestly.

Inceldom is toxic in that further identification with this identity, pairing a low sense of self-worth with sexual resignation leads to many fellas to horrible, self-perpetuating mental anguish. The ideological matrix of our present society, one that stands with one foot on machismo traditionalism and another on sexual liberation and feminism, is unable to provide a reasonable answer to these issues and incorporates both to 'answer' them. Incels are declared first to be failures for being unable to thrive in an environment of sexual freedom, and then pushed further down by having failed to live up to standards of masculinity.
>>15306>The core belief of incelism is that women have it easier, period. This is one of the contradictions at play. The primary thesis is that women are a group that is oppressed by the status quo and that men have it easier. The counterpoint would be men's rate of loneliness, suicide or whatever metric an incel advocate would choose. The antagonism between these points, stoked by the fundamental subject being the most primal and necessary of human experiences, leads to an especially charged dialectical process emerging.
In reality, gender imbalances aren't uniform, gender role based oppression works in multiple layers and in multiple directions. With a more nuanced view of the society we have inherited, it wouldn't be complicated to discuss how gender roles influence the individual and how some women could thrive in a deeply patriarchal society, while some men would suffer immensely under it. It was always jarring to me how a progressive, individualistic ideology would be so eager to deny this. It shouldn't cause cognitive dissonance to say that women are neither merely victims nor the only victims of such a system. Different societies have different moulds for interpersonal relationships, each with varying degrees of oppression for different sorts of individuals and it's myopic and prideful to imply that ours is free from it or that the only sins we carry are those we carry from the past.
Personally, I like women. I like them even more than men. And as a bonus, I'm less likely to be murdered by one.

Also, the police were not actually holding his car, so I don't know why it was in this lot.

>>15505> I'm for public transport, free college and progressive taxes, but I'm racist. Am I a right-winger?I recently had the stupid idea of mathematically proving that a 2-party political system can't be called a democracy.
as soon as you model political believes in more than a single dimension ("left" and "right") and add another dimension, e.g. authoritarian and libertarian, you have an area of political believes.
with 2 points you can only model a line.
a line has no area.
therefor, with a 2 party system you cover exactly 0% of the area any political spectrum has.

Btw. mathematics is sexist anyway because I think i looks like a dick and they use i for the complex unit, therfor, mathematics is sexist and racist and mathematicians should get aneurysms.

I think I'd be shitting bricks if it was the spine.
No.15594
>>15593Muscle cramps like that can originate in the spine.
It can go like this:
Blocked vertebrae -> nerve pinched -> muscle cramped -> nerve pinched even more
That's exactly what lumbago is and what led to me still not having full motor control in my left shin a good three years after the fact.
No.15595 KONTRA
>>15594>>15593Oh and to add, I still have pain from time to time and it is also a few cm to the side, but it definitely comes from the spine.

>>15583>Honestly I expected a kind of catharsis after this but ultimately I just submitted itCongrats. But as the one German said, these academic works are just that, some academic works. It is a milestone whose meaning will quickly vanish the further you go. That is my experience. I still felt glad when I turned in stuff every time. No catharsis, just a relatively freeing pressure drop.

>>15599>It is a milestone whose meaning will quickly vanish the further you go. That is my experienceCan confirm, despite being a great accomplishment, it fades rather fast in the face of the challenges that lie ahead, which usually is looking for a job and establishing oneself in your new position. Since you likely will end up in an environment where most people have an academic grade under their belt, it's nothing special any longer. Tbh I was really surprised that no recruiter ever cared about my grades after I was done with university, they didn't even ask.
Still,

>usually is looking for a job and establishing oneself in your new position.I'm waiting for this one atm and I fathom it will be a completely different challenge because it is more about learning about team dynamics, formal and informal practices, and all that jazz and less about knowledge that is useful in excelling in academic examinations for example. University just prepared by learning to learn.

This is a familiar situation for me and there can be several reasons why a rather satisfying event sequence/situation still has sort of negative feelings mixed in. I found out some reasons why that is and it is helpful to know these. These negative feelings are either trying to tell you something or they might be the result of self-critical talk, which is not very helpful.
