No. The little fucker is not worth my time unless it proofs to me that it can achieve and succeed. I will let it know that I brought it into this world, and that I can take it out. No, avatarfagging is perverse. At least with the Finn, it's the different images of cats but generally the idea of picking a picture as a signature seems wrong. Speaks of pride or something. I'll use the avatar I was assigned.

Speaking of flags, they're changing the government logo back to the old one, which now becomes the one. The artist who made the simplified logo, speaks about the political undertones (which he classifies as overtures to the far right) and warns of "throwing out the baby with the bathwater". I can't read the rest of the article because I'm paywalled.

Last night I found myself thinking about the minor lessons from playing Persona so I completed my assignments early and went to bed before midnight. I woke up very early, only sleeping 5 hours and I was unable to go back to sleep afterwards.

I left for class early too after having breakfast. Modern Chinese went well enough, like I could actually talk with the teacher in Chinese and such.
When I was tasked with retelling the textbook’s story with my own words, she remarked “不错”, which is kind of okay I guess.
Afterwards a guy did the same task a lot better, and I was surprised, because his usual performance was far below. Apparently the teacher noticed it too and after saying “非常好,没有问题。” she went on to ask “你用ChatGPT吗?“ and then the guy confessed on the spot that he did.

After class I came home and had lunch and slept a bit before going back to college for an assembly meeting where we discussed the application of the current headmaster for a 4th term. Afterwards talking about minor legislative stuff or whatever. The funniest part to me was when someone actually realised what was happening and said “Wouldn’t this change essentially allow the secretary to hand-pick the members of committees?” and by God we’re almost 35 years after the fall of communism and somehow power keeps finding its way to the hands of secretaries!

Some fellow workshop members were with me throughout, one of them was working on her thesis and I remarked how it’s so cool she’s writing about the modern cultural reception of Daoism and such. We discussed how we were progressing and such.
I saw some of her work process and it was basically searching for keywords in English texts, copying out the paragraphs containing it and then translating those paragraphs using ChatGPT and that got me thinking that by the looks everyone is fucking using AI for tasks, except me and now I’m afraid that I’m going to be left behind in the race even though I feel it’d remove a sort of authenticity people expect from me. (And before you ask, after 4 years, a lot of people know my name and my style, it’d show.)

Tomorrow I plan on knocking out most of the thesis. Write the remaining two chapters I want and then assemble everything and start the review process. Then go out drinking at night. Maybe. Idk. I don’t really want to drink but I want to meet up with friends. I’ve been drinking too much recently I feel like due to the college anime screenings.

People should not rely on AI too much. I saw people using AI today as well for research. Some tools make sense in certain contexts I guess.
I used AI to style and mistake-check my proposal AFTER I have written it myself first. I sometimes use AI to help me with my job applications. The AI can be a little refinement help helper to me mostly I used it for condolence suggestions in the past where my job demanded to also say something about it besides the organizing questions that were the topic of an email. I'm puzzled by people using it for big tasks like writing whole texts.

My two cents: use AI as tool that can offer suggestions to what you already have, but don't use it to do the main work.
That said I might run AI over my current job application draft an ask for suggestions, maybe even in relation to the job posting. Curious about what benefits that might yield. AI is useful in taking some cognitive load.

 No.15088

>>15087
Not too bad. The AI helps where I am lazy or not convinced of myself but where selling myself becomes important verbally matching the tasks with my skills. I think the match is apparent from the skills I have listed, though. I will probably integrate some suggestions of the AI by reformulating myself. I don't really know what the work will actually look like but I guess it will be fine. On the phone, I was told if I have studied I'm expected to work myself into this new topic regardless and it should be fine and doable.

I went out drinking with friends. I didn’t really want to go but since some people were corming home from abroad I felt obliged. Didn’t have alcohol, only a tonic.
Not everyone drank but I honestly felt kind of out of place. (Then again, nobody else seemed to have much chemistry, probably due to the place being too noisy.)

The second reason I went is because I thought I’d feel good afterwards but honestly the more I think about this the worse I feel so I should stop thinking about it.
Should’ve stayed home to work on my thesis instead of this. But I told myself that saying “I’m not going because I’ll be working on my thesis is a copout”.

I wish the last stretch of university would stop grinding me to dust. I keep charging head on but it doesn’t seem to get any better in the long run.

Tomorrow I’m going to spend the day at the library to cram for the midterms and when I come home I’ll switch to working on my thesis. And then rinse and repeat that until Tuesday and after that I’ll finally be somewhat free-er.

I stumbled upon 12 year old Japanese dance lessons on youtube for my dancing style. A famous Japanese dancer and a younger one that today is famous in the scene as well. She is older than me I think, somewhere early 30s and she is rocking the shit, obviously dancing like 15 or 20 years I guess.
The videos are pretty cool and helpful even though I have to watch them with AI translation from Japanese into German/English. You can clearly see some positioning of the feet I probably never considered before but that makes movement easier since the direction of the feet is important to allow a certain movement to be easier accomplished and appear more flowy it seems.

Tomorrow I will dance. There are at least 10 steps to learn and inspect closer from these lessons, some of which I already know. Too much for one day.

Today I tried to combine 2-3 steps and "freestyle" a bit, nothing extraordinary nor special in comparison to what is possible but experiencing it myself just from combining what I know not watching a video to dance after motivated me to push further so that one day I can just turn on some music and dance like I feel in a continuous but shifting movement just like the music meets the body and mind.

When I was putting on my shirt my mother asked me why I was wearing a "going out" shirt at home and I told her because I was leaving for the city and she asked me if I'm going to the protests and I looked at her puzzled and said "What do you think?"
"I think you're not going to the protests."
"Then you're thinking right."
Like yeah I'm totally going fucking waste my time on that fucking nonsense.

When I came home I had essentially a second lunch and then started editing the materials I already had and I have 47k characters actually. When driving, I notice when the car behind me makes the same turn. A common occurrence. Sometimes a car will match my route for a second turn. Again, not unusual. There are only so many places we all go, and everyone tends to take the main roads. Three turns? Four? Then we're basically driving buddies and I become more conscious of their presence in my mirror. Not that I think I'm being followed, only that our independent journeys are in sync. Breaking that- when the other car turns off, moves ahead of me, or whatever- brings a certain sense of closure. Our brief relationship has ended.

Since covid, I've slowly lost every ties I had with coherent social groups. Houellebecq would talk about atomisation, you just move aimlessly from different things, ideas, peoples, but you can never make them part of your daily life. The only real daily tie I have with besides my family is cultural consumption. And that's a shitty tie, makes you feel like you're not an individual (which I do not think I am) but part of this tragic wind leading us to extinction only able to watch.

When I'm down, I go and play shit like morrowind, or read extensive D&D lorebooks. For a time I feel reasured in a world that only my and other's imagination can make perfectly exist. >you just move aimlessly from different things, ideas, peoples

Maybe your aimless wandering and idling is a result of a lack of purpose, direction, and self-awareness.

Part of growing up is finding out how your own personality is structured, what your priorities in life are and what you can realistically achieve. Social contact can help with that to an extent, as we receive feedback from our social surroundings. Children define themselves, their values and their role in life via their parents, teens are oriented towards their peer group. But you are a little too old for both of those.

If a homeless guy produces prose that is more relevant and readable than most contemporary authors, that says a lot about modern literary community.

Yesterday I went to the library and studied for the exam and then at home I studied some more but I also wasted a ton of time watching a performance of Wagner's Meistersinger and I will now claim that it's the best thing anyone has ever made.

I woke up early and then revised once more, had a coffee and left for the exam. Before that I picked up a copy of Nietzsche's poems which I have reserved yesterday. Got asked if I'm at the German studies dept.

The exam itself wasn't too hard I think. Though I couldn't finish the essay part where they asked us to write about the "Status of women in society". 400字 lmao.
Honestly, whatever the results turn out to be I'm feeling a lot more confident in my ability to read and write now for some reason.
Funny that in the essay I resorted to basically ancient Chinese methods where I was re-writing the same sentence with a different verb and noun to stress a point through parallelisms.

Afterwards I went out to have lunch an I decided to not give a damn and spend all the money given to me and go to that expensive wienerschnitzel place and I ordered the biggest one they had with fries and I ate it and I felt like a king honestly.

For like three days now I've been very happy for no particular reason. The workload is huge, there's not much to relief, but I'm feeling confident.

Yes, but incels are very stigmatized group of people, absolute counterculture. Meanwhile Houellebecq is an acknowledged writer and Chevalier of the Legion of Honor.
That's because he wrote his books before the taboo was formed, and it was socially acceptable to criticize sexual neoliberalism. If he wrote his books today, no one would publish them.

 No.15306

But inceldom is not quite criticizing sexual neoliberalism, it's mainly misogynistic with all the implications.
The core belief of incelism is that women have it easier, period.

You can't deal with the problem of incels simply by accusing them of all possible sins. Number of men in involuntary celibate is growing and it will continue to grow unless something is done about it.

 No.15323

Inceldom is toxic in that further identification with this identity, pairing a low sense of self-worth with sexual resignation leads to many fellas to horrible, self-perpetuating mental anguish. The ideological matrix of our present society, one that stands with one foot on machismo traditionalism and another on sexual liberation and feminism, is unable to provide a reasonable answer to these issues and incorporates both to 'answer' them. Incels are declared first to be failures for being unable to thrive in an environment of sexual freedom, and then pushed further down by having failed to live up to standards of masculinity.

>>15306
>The core belief of incelism is that women have it easier, period.
This is one of the contradictions at play. The primary thesis is that women are a group that is oppressed by the status quo and that men have it easier. The counterpoint would be men's rate of loneliness, suicide or whatever metric an incel advocate would choose. The antagonism between these points, stoked by the fundamental subject being the most primal and necessary of human experiences, leads to an especially charged dialectical process emerging.

In reality, gender imbalances aren't uniform, gender role based oppression works in multiple layers and in multiple directions. With a more nuanced view of the society we have inherited, it wouldn't be complicated to discuss how gender roles influence the individual and how some women could thrive in a deeply patriarchal society, while some men would suffer immensely under it. It was always jarring to me how a progressive, individualistic ideology would be so eager to deny this. It shouldn't cause cognitive dissonance to say that women are neither merely victims nor the only victims of such a system. Different societies have different moulds for interpersonal relationships, each with varying degrees of oppression for different sorts of individuals and it's myopic and prideful to imply that ours is free from it or that the only sins we carry are those we carry from the past.

Personally, I like women. I like them even more than men. And as a bonus, I'm less likely to be murdered by one.

>[societies] each with varying degrees of oppression for different sorts of individuals

It's not very unusual that a BA student's work is not so good that it tops a published peer-review paper which even then gets criticized by other researchers. So don't take it personally because flaws and deficits are nothing unusual and will be brought up accordingly. You get better by being notified about these and learn. That's some nice tidbits you got there from wikipedia, kudos for even writing the name correctly.
Sadly you missed that it's only certain ones that have the effect you are describing and that direct contact (e.g. oral uptake) or inhalation (e.g. through vaporizing them) is necessary to get a proper effect; especially a *potential* cancerogeneity could only be shown in mice that were fed Permethrin.
This means that not only are you slurping cum from all possible sources, you apparently also lick ant traps.

A kitchen is a room where people prepare and eat food.

> Only certain ones that have the effect

Misinterpretation of results. The endocrine effects of certain pyrethroids have been observed. Absence of endocrine effects of all others is obviously not implied by this observation.

By the time the pure, undiluted Germanic tribes invaded, Rome had become far to weak to fend of the invasion. Corrupt Rome had to be destroyed for history to progress. Relationships of cause and effect exist. Preconditions exist. The precondition for the renewal of Europe by Karl the Great was the destruction of corrupt Rome by uncorrupted Germans who never were under Rome's yoke.

Africans will not form theories about history at all. They typically will not even grasp the concept of a precondition and the relationship of cause and effect, because they have only the vaguest concepts of time. They live 100% in the present. Combined with their absolute savagery, their stupidity makes them unbelievably dangerous. They are murderous and hardly ever can they be deterred by threats of counter-violence, precisely because they do not understand cause and effect. This can be seen in South Africa. Home invasions on farms, rapes, necklacings, etc, despite many of the invaders getting mauled by dogs or shot by farmers.

Of course, leftists see this genocide of white as 'legitimate' 'method' in a 'revolutionary struggle'. With Africans in Europe, this war against the white people continues in Europe
Leftists think their pet-Africans will spare them, as a thank-you for opening the doors. They are wrong.

Went to see Tan Dun's Buddha Passion today. It was a very pleasant piece overall even if I don't particularly like Buddhism's take on life. But I think, I came out believing more in art then I did going in.

Ultimately I enjoyed the "chaotic" parts of the piece that felt more avantgarde, even if those symbolised the negativity in the universe in most of the scenes. But they were still really fun to listen to and the final acts returns to that great motif from the first act and it ends on a really high note so it was actually great.

During the break I discussed with some college members music stuff and I proclaimed my love of Wagner and one of them said he never heard that someone likes Wagner simply because his music makes them feel good and clear in the head.
Was recommended a long Schönberg piece which I will listen to tomorrow.

After the concert we discussed thesis work with a classmate and such, I was really energized and she tolerated me for some reason.

I recently had the stupid idea of mathematically proving that a 2-party political system can't be called a democracy.

as soon as you model political believes in more than a single dimension ("left" and "right") and add another dimension, e.g. authoritarian and libertarian, you have an area of political believes.

with 2 points you can only model a line.
a line has no area.

therefor, with a 2 party system you cover exactly 0% of the area any political spectrum has.

After waking up I baked the rosemary bread I prepared last night and had some of it for breakfast/lunch and then had a strong coffee. Opened a new pack and I bought a different type now and I honestly do feel the difference in taste.

Ran in to the professor during my commute and we discussed my thesis and such. He reminisced a bit about how he wrote this 50 years ago. Honestly it was very interesting that apparently he just typed it out and afterwards "editing" meant that he'd literally cut pages up and glue a paragraph into a different place. All of which took out a massive amount of space because he worked with around 150 pages of material.

Went to the library before class and picked up a Nietzsche volume. It was pretty old and nobody seemed to have borrowed it in quite some time because it didn't have that magnetic anti-stealing sticker in it yet.
The inside of the front cover has a sticker that says "Gift of the Government of the German Reich - 1942" so this edition is Hitler approved apparently. Stickers like these are endlessly amusing. The same's true for when I come across a book that belonged to a former socialist institution like "Party School of the Hungarian Socialist Worker's Party". (Or like a few weeks back I found a book that belonged to the "Imperial Consulate of Japan".)
The Nazis are long gone but the book is still here.

It's long as fuck so I will probably just flip through 1-2 of the interesting chapters and then take it back.

Honestly I'd be in a pretty fucking good mood if my back didn't randomly hurt when I make a more unusual move.

Boy, go see a doctor NOW.
Don't let a blocked vertebrae fuck your back up like it fucked up mine just because I didn't go and get cracked. Could have spared me a lot of pain and rehab.

I can't "pop" it out because it's explicitly not the spine as I've found it, but rather an odd muscle-cramp like thing 3-4 centimetres to the right of it.
I think I'd be shitting bricks if it was the spine.

Muscle cramps like that can originate in the spine.
It can go like this:
Blocked vertebrae -> nerve pinched -> muscle cramped -> nerve pinched even more

That's exactly what lumbago is and what led to me still not having full motor control in my left shin a good three years after the fact.

Oh and to add, I still have pain from time to time and it is also a few cm to the side, but it definitely comes from the spine.

That’s very fun. I don’t think I’ve met anyone irl who claimed to be Nietzschean and who was not indecently socially retarded. I

Soon you will be a connoisseur, easily distinguishing between fine coffee roasts and the common man's everyday caffeinated swill.

st.ill drinks both

Also, unexpected English in pic. Is that common?

Knowing that you are in your early 20s makes this somehow amusing to read.

Congrats. But as the one German said, these academic works are just that, some academic works. It is a milestone whose meaning will quickly vanish the further you go. That is my experience. I still felt glad when I turned in stuff every time. No catharsis, just a relatively freeing pressure drop.

Can confirm, despite being a great accomplishment, it fades rather fast in the face of the challenges that lie ahead, which usually is looking for a job and establishing oneself in your new position. Since you likely will end up in an environment where most people have an academic grade under their belt, it's nothing special any longer. Tbh I was really surprised that no recruiter ever cared about my grades after I was done with university, they didn't even ask.

Still, >>15583 should enjoy it while it lasts, it's well deserved after finishing such a big chunk of work.

Both is PCA reduction of all possible political views. Space doesn't matter because not all areas have similar density. There is much more generic boomers/libs than neoreactionary vegan queer-tankies.

Yes, absolutely. My post was not about taking the enjoyment but contextualizing a cathartic expectation. It will certainly glow for a while.

I'm waiting for this one atm and I fathom it will be a completely different challenge because it is more about learning about team dynamics, formal and informal practices, and all that jazz and less about knowledge that is useful in excelling in academic examinations for example. University just prepared by learning to learn.

Well today was good I guess. I woke up and my back felt really fucked up but then it suddenly stopped hurting by the evening basically besides some right residual pain so that’s done and dealt with.
My father actually gave me some painkillers but I decided not to take them. I mean it wasn’t unbearable to begin with and if it’s so bad I take a painkiller for it then I should get it checked anyway.

Chinese class went fine, the teacher called my performance actually good for the first time ever instead of just “not bad”.
I felt rather sick by the end of class because I had like a piece of bread with coffee for breakfast and some tea so I was hungry. Went to the library to pick up a book I requested and then went home to have lunch and also to sleep some.

I had to go back to the city earlier because I promised I’d be on the team for the Far Eastern Institute’s “Quiz night”. There were a lot of teams and we finished 4th.
During the “Music” section we were tasked with identifying music and at one point a track started and in the beginning it had a bell toll and everyone eagerly waited for it to earnestly start but as the bell tolled for the second time I just blurted out
>Sailor Moon?
And then the theme song actually started and all the girls at the table looked at me completely bewildered and then I realized what I did and burried my face in my hand as they laughed
>I mean Ernst, I could have said it too 20 seconds later but you knew it based on the first two sounds :DDDDD
>I’m never going to live this down am I?
But otherwise it wasn’t malicious or anything, they just found it odd and it was good banter.

A former university classmate was there and during a break we ended up talking. It was like the 4th fucking time someone offered me a Chunghwa cigarette and I finally took it and I smoked it. I smoked a Chinese cigarette and yeah, I don’t fucking know how to smoke I guess and I’m never doing it again. But I didn’t drink anything.

After this was concluded I travelled back to college with the others and discussed the Tan Dun concert a bit and also got into a disagreement over the new Nibelungenlied translation with that Jap studies girl who rejected me because she heard the lecture of the translator who published the new version. As she got off I shouted “I respect your opinion” and she replied “Me too.” and in unision we ended up saying “Even if I don’t agree.”

At college I watched the last two episodes of that anime we started with the group and then stayed a bit to discuss picking a show for the next session and ultimately we came up with nothing but I had a good discussion with another guy about Japanese animation even if he said that
>The Tatami Galaxy is good if you’re maybe 14

I socialised a lot today and one part of me is very satisfied that I did well and went out with people and laughed a lot but another part of me is always deeply dissatisfied after I’m done for some reason. I don’t know why, but my feelings weren’t in harmony as I left to catch the last bus.

The thesis left a hole in me I think. Nothing feels right and I think I will do something tomorrow instead of just lazing around. And then when I’m doing something, things will be right again. I need to feel a kind of fire again.

Btw, all the cool kids are shooting heroin, why don't you? Come on, it's just a bit of heroin, nothing bad, you'll feel all calm afterwards.
Then weÄre going to jump off the bridge, sounds fun, eh?

> I don’t know why,

Do some guesswork at least. That would be interesting and helpful for you.
This is a familiar situation for me and there can be several reasons why a rather satisfying event sequence/situation still has sort of negative feelings mixed in. I found out some reasons why that is and it is helpful to know these. These negative feelings are either trying to tell you something or they might be the result of self-critical talk, which is not very helpful.
