After some initial negative kneejerk reaction I found some time to think about this and have come to the conclusion that any healthy society would find ways to address the underlying problems. The premise here is that such a phenomenon would not appear in a healthy society.
And just to be clear, I do count the flow of money as part of the phenomenon, otherwise this would just be regular shenanigans with slightly different dimensions that we're used to.
