Since the question came up: Does Ernst consider /int/ to be a SFW (safe for work) board? In this context declaring /int/ as SFW would mean something like no nudity, no gore and things like that, basically a page that no one who accidentally catches a glimpse will not be offended, as long as it's not your boss and you should have been of wörkenings instead. If we however define /int/ as not safe for work (NSFW) it would still mean that threads shouldn't be derailed with coomerposting and so on, so it either should be related to the thread or put in a dedicated thread.

In case you were wondering: /b/ is per definition NSFW, derailing still not recommended though.

Where? Not that I'm disbelieving, I just want to read up on stuff.

There's a million places on the internet where you can look at tits

This.

Just keep it SFW.

NSFW in terms of content, but SFW by presentation.

Meaning, allow war footage, booba, whatever, but if the thumbnail is graphic, it should be hidden by a spoiler and contained to specific thredas.

Imageboards are NSFW per se and the distinction is pretty silly. I understand why some boards on the cancerchan need to be NSFW, but this is EC.
I strongly oppose banning any kind of (legal) content and so far it hasn't been a problem in the slightest.
We had a porn thread on xyz that went absolutely without any issues (and unlike other threads of a more e-celeb nature didn't attract more undesirables).

So stop making up problems where there aren't.
However, in accordance with the general degree of civility of this board, I support the suggestion of the Finn >>8235. Make a rule "Please spoiler sexual and violent content" or something.

Demand of specific threads looks excessive, spoilering should be enough.

 No.8243

because of my personal taste i wouldnt have a problem with most sexual NSFW images being not hidden behind a spoiler. even tiddie-shitposting is fine, imo.
on the other hand: i would very much prefer if violent or sexual NSFW pictures depicting kinks i am not into would be behind a spoiler.

since it is kinda hard to make a rule designed around a single person personal sex kinks... a general "spoiler" rule for NSFW content seems fair.

Thou, i would keep it as a soft-rule. if we have a dedicated porn thread, no need to spoiler in that thread. if ppl are not interested they can just hide the whole thing.

>>8232 here. Would consider using spoilers SFW, so that is fine. It is true that we haven't had any problems with it in the past really, but I think it indeed sticks out when somebody posts nudity and I'm fine with having little nudity here.

What I mean is that if someone's gonna post a hundred pieces of a type of NSFW media, do it in a thread that's designated for it. Individual, random instances are probably context-related. They're fine wherever.

Based on the content I've seen on this iteration of EC so far, I would say that the urge to make up rules is more dangerous to EC than the content that triggered the urge.

Meaning: No need for a rule that people can point to unless someone starts posting larger amounts of content that bothers some users. Let EC be neither SFW nor NSFW but remain in a superposition of either until there is an actual need for collapse.

Until then, I think we have a working EC-local common sense going on and the two booba-posters I have seen seem to accept the wishes of others to use spoilers in the future without needing a fixed rule.

There, I've said the same thing three times in different ways, please count that as 3 votes.

Also, in the absence of rules we can always resolve issues with classical power plays. If >>8243 posts booba, and I don't want to see booba, I can react by posting depictions of whatever kinks that guy doesn't like until he stops posting booba (or one (or both) of us get banned). I'm obviously joking, please no preemptive ban kthx <3

Yes, we do have the spoiler option for a reason and it should be used for very graphic content like pornography and gore.

Personally I wouldn't mind if occasional mildly NSFW content, say nude paintings or violent footage in historical or news context, would be allowed to be unspoilered.

It seems the discussion has died down and there is no final consensus amongst Ernst whether /int/ should be SFW or NSFW. What can be said though is that most Ernsts think that there is currently no need to create rules concerning NSFW content, so we won't make any. Thanks for your contributions.

Ernst would like all content to be allowed (as long as it isn't cp or illegal in any way) but it's always nice if porn or gore or anime gets hidden behind spoilers.
