>>24263The government is more labile and refers chiefly to a particular administration and its goals. It often involves topical decisions such as fiscal policy.
The state however is the structured organizational substrate that the government uses.
The state refers more to capability, while the government refers more to decision making.
For example, the department of state establishes relations with changing governments, and thus focuses on constant statuary (literally representing the country) contact.
This is why the Monarchies such as Britain have the tradition of the monarch signing bills into law (I don't know the law and history of Britain besides the pop version). The Monarch assents that the governments' goals are realized by the copiabilities of the state.
I'm guessing.

The plane was cold as shit for some reason. The transfer at Xi’an was long as fuck, but otherwise uneventful. Everything is nice.
My Chinese has been more useful compared to the translator gadget someone else in the group took with them.
Had an insane spat with my father’s soon to be ex-business partner.
Talked with the guide in Chinese. He said that my Chinese name is nice. For a foreigner I guess.
After that dad said he is proud of me. He literally had tears in his eyes I think.
Had hotpot but it was unbelievably hot. But it was nice regardless and honestly it gave me a bit of confidence. Give me a bit of rice, some soup, some meat and I will be fine. Let me wash it off with a bit of tea like Judge Dee.
Internet seems to be working okay-ish.
Kunming is a “mid city” but it’s not really run down or anything. Amazing though how many gadgets these guys have and how many e-scooters are running around transporting the most random shit.
Gonna have to buy some good quality tea and cigarettes. Maybe a book or two…

The so-called authorities recently incarcerated Peter I. But since he most certainly has declared his will to return his citizenship and leave the jurisdiction of the federal Republic of Germany, arresting him was a crime, and those who ordered and executed his arrest will without a doubt be sentenced by the proper courts once those are reinstated.

Of course, we do have nobility trying do away with the Republic. In 2022, the obscure Heinrich XIII. Prinz Reuss planned to storm the Reichstag, to establish himself as regent of Germany.

But he seems to understand what I am saying so that’s sorta reassuring.
Got stuck at a road. The Chinese love lying about time. They say this will take 2-3 hours and then they solve it in 30 minutes. Otherwise the ride was smooth.
Some people laughed at how bad my Chinese is at the restaurant. And another one just politely giggled, told me “听不懂” and continued giggling.

In the future, I will always expect every foreigner everywhere to not only be able to locate "Germany" on a map, but to have heard about the small town I where I live. Like a genuine person, not some wannabe cosmopolitan. It's not like most "Germans" can't even tell "Japan" from "Korea" or "Lithuania" from "Latvia", so I should totally expect "Asian" cabbies to be able to list ~180 nations and their capitals.
