CBT's target audience are spoiled privileged people who don't realize how happy they are. This is because its base assumption is that patient is unhappy to due to his cognitive distortions, not due to objective reality. When you try to apply it to people with actual problems, it gets weird:
- The tram cut off both my legs, I lost my job and have no money to pay rent anymore.
- Let's see something positive in your situation. For example, now you don't have to spend time and money on choosing and buying shoes.

For unprivileged people, antiCBT should be developed. It will introduce to them cognitive distortions to help them better cope with sad reality. For example, communism.

What would be a consumerist, capitalist society, where global capital is invested, held and sold only by A.I.? What would change is that this capital couldn't be accessed by humans and humans could influence the market only with demand and supply. Venture capitalists wouldn't exist anymore and there would be a more clear divide between real currency and money used in diffrent capitalist transaction. Is it possible? What would change? I don't think your therapist is doing CBT correctly.
Afaik CBT is about breaking out of negative thought loops, behaviors and emotional patterns. It's not about rationalizing the situation.
Now, it would not solve the actual problem that's causing these thoughts and behaviors, but it would maybe help you be more productive so you can solve them yourself. Plenty of happy cripples in the world.

Then again, an unemployed cripple wouldn't even be able to afford CBT, so it's not really a problem that comes up much.

I forgot to set my alarm so I woke up very late. I had a light breakfast, ran for a bit and then took a shower and left for class.
Class went fine. The other guy present can't remember a thing to save his life. Like he asked three fucking times for the reading material. You tell him clearly it was Book XY and he will mix up the books and the authors or the journal names.

I don't have access to one of the books necessary for next week's seminar. It's a monograph by the professor holding the course. He wrote it in the 80s, but the library decided to get rid of all the copies by the looks. Probably because it had "Publication of the Ministry of Culture's Chief Department for Marxist-Leninist Education" on the cover. It actually deals with French enlightenment historiography. I just honestly find anything related to the previous regime sort of funny for some reason.

I borrowed volume on of Montesquieu's Spirit of Laws to check out the China-relevant chapters. Basically before leaving class I borrow something digitally and by the time I arrive to the library I can pick it up already. I deposited the previous book and I was on my way.
Had dinner. I need to prepare a bit for tomorrow's Chinese class.

Pretty much yeah. It's my experience. You react and handle differently objective reality if you will your thoughts and objective reality are not the same thing, your feelings towards the "outside" are not congruent with the outside automatically. They are part of objective reality though ofc. It's unpolitical as approach isnt that great? no marxist mumbo jumbo, just science, but also realistic enough since communist wonderland is not around the corner, so instead of feeling shitty and insecure about some things I manage better and eventually can shape minor things in objective reality, certainly not political but at least in day to day interaction with humans like your family, friends and lovers. Not everything is determined by capitalism, except when you are a die-hard marxist maybe.

>there is a legit critique of CBT

There is, yes.

>What I'm saying is that often the problem is lack of cognitive distortions

How do you know and what exactly do you mean by this?
If your objective reality is you lost your legs than CBT won't bring back your legs obviously but it can counter negative thoughts that revolve around the (negative) affect of having lost your legs. If you don't have thought spirals about going to war and loosing your legs and how you could be such a fucking dumb idiotic cunt that voluntarily went and lost its legs for nothing than CBT would try to deal with that thought which is one of many thoughts you can have about that objective reality. CBT is then not about turning these thoughts into thoughts into "oh yes, it's so great I lost my legs!"

 No.13774 KONTRA

Also, CBT doesn't make much sense if you do not mix it with other approaches that ask for the reasons in the first place. Usually a good therapist knows how to combine approaches is what I read.

What I think is really interesting is that she traveled to Latin America with a fake passport.

Chinese class was good. I surprised myself again by being able to communicate with the native speaker teacher.

After class I came home and had lunch. I cleaned up my desk area in the garden and sat outside to read for a bit before deciding it was still too cold so I came back inside after finishing like 50 pages.
I'm running out of page markers and post-it notes.

There was another Chinese book club event organised for today. I didn't read the book but I went anyway. After the event I talked with one of the presenters and managed to arrange to have the publisher she works at donate some books for our college.
"I don't get why didn't you send an e-mail."
"I think for matters like this, at least one personal meeting is the right conduct."
I told her about the institution and the "Noble cause of Hungarian education" and she said "We will give you everything, worry not!"

I had the nicest cup of earl grey and I was so hopped up on caffeine (Also had my usual cup of coffee after lunch while in the garden) and my success that I practically ran to the metro station afterwards. I think I could have tried to chat up the former diplomat guy who was present. I could have. Should have maybe. I don't know.

When I arrived home I was still in a rather good mood, and the kind where my father would ask me if I had taken drugs while out. It didn't happen, instead my mother asked me if I'd been drinking.

Professor re-reviewed my article and said with these changes it's now a very good text. I'll look through his comments and do another round of editing and then I will submit it for the volume. I hope I'm not the last to do so.

Finally have the contract from the magazine. They managed to re-germanise my mother's name on accident but I honestly don't give a fuck really. I'll just send it with priority mail and hope they give me the cash as soon as possible.

But it's obvious they still exist. How else can they be on the loose for decades, continuing to terrorize ordinary people by robbing them at gunpoint? Where do they get their fake passports if not from the RAF logistics structure? Why did Klette live in the known radical-leftist ulcer that is Kreuzberg? It's a terrorist nest where antifa, eco-idiots, and so on are free to do as they please, without being kept in check by the police.

We would never allow such "people" here, they'd be driven away. Some years ago, leftists had a coming here where they lived like gypsies, but after a few of their dogs died and after a few of their windows broke and after some old beater of a car burned out, they decided that it was bad luck living here and left.

RAF still exists, and Berlin needs to be smoked out to get rid of the left pest. Search every house, question everyone who ever lived in Berlin. Berlin is full of leftists / foreigners / criminals and needs to be cleansed or, better, nuked.

It’s not about presenting an active threat to the current administration of Germany in Klatte’s case. It’s about carrying out a legislative process that’s necessary in any criminal case. Her’s just got dragged out.

If suddenly the Reichsbürger Armee Fraktion blew up a couple of cars, robbed a few banks and then disappeared for 30 years they would be hunted down and charged just like Klatte, because it is important for the state to present itself as able. You cannot rest even after 30 years, we will get you and you will be punished for breaking THE LAW. Her current existence is meaningless in this regard, she’s not being charged for being a middle aged woman giving maths lessons.

As for the media presentation, well, what do you expect with the current paradigm in Germany? Of course a right-reactionary who posed a current threat from the standpoint of society will get harsher media treatment than a leftist urban guerilla who’s capture and charging 30 years after the fact is more of an oddity. It’s an anomaly. Klatte’s capture from the standpoint of anti-terrorism is nigh meaningless save for the fact that the government and the police got to demonstrate their power accross time and can put an end to the story.

Thank dog at least somebody got it.

Both Reichsbürger and RAF are anti-state. Just that Klette is no imminent danger to the state and thus gets treated as such. She was considered harmless in the context of terroristic, anti state activities. As you said: these people still need to face the procedures of the state against its enemies. That is important for the state, even 30 years after. But the state is not worried that this person will conduct attacks on the state and its representatives, unlike Reichsbürger. I honestly have high hopes for this. I remember seeing an interview with Linus from like a decade ago where he kind of predicted that ultimately it’ll be the backing of some tech company that will bring about the year of the Linux desktop, and he mentioned Valve specificially, due to their efforts to standardise shit and the weight they carry due to the software library on their platform.
I’m not following tech-news every day but it also seems like Microsoft is preparing for a post-windows world too, so that also makes this switch more likely. Like the only thing besides games that kept me on windows really was Office, but with the (somewhat clunky) web-UI version it works on any platform basically.

I’m optimistic honestly that we will end up with cleaner desktops in the next 5-10 years.
Of course the die-hard Linux fans see this as some sort of grand betrayal because their OS is accomodating users instead of changing them. Basically the hardcore freetards want every user to be a programmer and electrician changing capacitors on a motherboard and debugging the kernel when in reality this is just a fancy typewriter and TV to most people.

I think it is the latter that irks you immensely because you want some moral statement from me about the RAF. You think that making no moral judgment = endorsing the RAF position and its actions. I was never interested in an argument that is based in morals, merely argue from the viewpoint of the state and Hungary at least got that right away, seems like he has some skills you don't have. I was thinking of the parole "Bomber Harris Do It Again" which originated in Germany

Mr. Harris:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Harris

>Harris took command of No. 5 Group RAF in England, and in February 1942 was appointed head of Bomber Command. He retained that position for the rest of the war. In the same year, the British Cabinet agreed to the "area bombing" of German cities. Harris was given the task of implementing Churchill's policy and supported the development of tactics and technology to perform the task more effectively. Harris assisted British Chief of the Air Staff Marshal of the Royal Air Force Charles Portal in carrying out the United Kingdom's most devastating attacks against the German infrastructure and population, including the Bombing of Dresden

From German Wikiepdia
>The exclamation Bomber Harris do it again! was a campaign by 23-year-old student and former Pirate politician Mercedes Reichstein on Twitter, with which she said she wanted to express her protest against the right-wing Pegida movement.

So yeah, the RAF did nothing wrong, death to Germlings, so that we never are bothered by their bickering again.

Ach Herr Haldol, did I wake you up again?

 No.13866

book.jpg (3.35 MB, 3000x3000)

I woke up as usual and did a treadmill session and some lifting, had a shower. Had lunch and a coffee. My father was watching TikTok loudly and he's getting into dangerous as fuck territory because alongside the health-grifters he now also listens to crypto-web3 stuff too like there was one where a male audibly middling intelligence and hairline talked about how "The blockchain and web3.0 will revolutionarise sport!" and at that point I just said "You know 80% of those words weren't in the Bible, right?" and of course he understood what I was getting at, but whenever I tell him something he feels the need to impart wisdom on me in return, not as some sort of malicious act, but as a defence mechanism on his part so that he feels just as "educated" as me. So he told me "80% of the food we eat today didn't exist 50 years ago. Just like 80% of our illnesses." he said as he was spreading margarine on a piece of bread.
I really wish he didn't feel like he had to prove something. Okay, he doesn't have a HS diploma. Who cares? He has an amazing skillset, doesn't drink or smoke, a marriage that at this rate will really last until death does them apart and a successful business. Who cares if he was never a bookworm? He's a real stand-up guy.

Mom came home early and threw a banknote at me, telling me to go to the pharmacy, so I added that to my list of tasks for the day. Of course before I left I spent like 20 minutes talking about my Chinese classes to her. My goal for the day was to go to the post office, the pharmacy and the stationery store to pick up some page markers.
The post office was relatively empty, only a few pensioners shuffling around. One of them dropped her papers without noticing and I gave them back to her. They made sending mail more expensive.
Stationery store was closed already, and the pharmacy was actually deserted. The door was open, but all the lights and screens were off and there was no clerk to be seen anywhere. I decided not to be a nuisance and went to the other pharmacy. Basically I took a long walk throughout town. Checked out a few monuments and the like. Also found a random government employment office. I got on the bus to go to class but then I noticed I left my papers at home so I went home instead. I found a stationery store by the bus station so I picked up some pagemarkers there and then I went to class.

I was the first to arrive so I borrowed the projector and the room name from the guard's office and opened the room and set things up. Before class I was still in a very good mood due to caffeine so I was just talking about random stuff I have read, which culminated in me slamming the table with my hand when I remembered a theory that came to my head during a night of reading. I began to explain that how in the Kojiki Ninigi-no-Mikoto descends to mount Takachiho or whatever and then he essentially establishes a divine rule over the lands of Japan. And I thought that this was interesting because isn't this kind of in parallel with the myth of the Kim family in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea where Kim Il-sung is said to have been born on Mt. Paektu?
A Koreanist member of the workshop came to my rescue, she's a very erudite girl and I envy how she can carry out her work without being melodramatic about everything like I am. I respect her immensely, but I think I said this before. Anyway, she told me that apparently in Korean cosmogony there is a story about a god of wind descending on Mt. Paektu with a retinue of heavenly servants to rule over the lands, and the Kim family's story is a reference to that, but man, what kind of an instinct was that on my part?

Lecturer was visibly tired but still talked for over two and a half hours about geopolitics and China. He riffed on Hungarian journalist saying that "The average is uneducated, the most cultured ones speak only English and so they just take reports from the NYT or CNN. Something happens in Vienna and they don't get on the fucking train, they just read what Washington has to say about it."
He talked a lot about declining American power projection and how the elite's socialisation on American hegemony is making things harder. He put it quite bluntly: "I want you all to remember this thing: Losing power fucking sucks!"
There was also this tangent he went on about the issues of conducting geopolitics along moral lines, saying how the more you demonise your enemies the harder it will be to make up with them. "I don't deny that Putin's a pretty fucked up guy. But if you keep calling him the devil and call for his death every day as a citizen then you are essentially making it impossible for politicians to sit down and talk. Our moral position is essentially paid for with ukrainian blood. And in the end, with no force to enforce with, we will eventually have to sit down with a ruler and a map of Eastern Europe and draw the lines we would have drawn two years ago too, except we killed millions in the process. Being moral is a good thing, and hard to argue against. Being amoral can be disgusting. In an ideal world we'd have no war and no Putin. But this isn't an ideal world. Shouldn't we make the best of that instead?"
It was a good lecture overall I think. Gave me much to think about honestly.

(He also invited us to read Thucydides. Honestly the two Hungarian books I want to get right now are both Greek classics. There's this cool as fuck edition of Hermes Trismegistos' works I have from the library and have been flipping through I think I need to own and a used copy of the Peloponnese War.

I got home and made a plate of fries for dinner. Don't exactly know why. I just wanted to eat something salty. I wish I had some earl gray tea. I exhausted the box I had in my room in case my mother buys yellow label instead of earl grey and now I'm stuck drinking yellow label and I honestly just miss the bergamot aroma. I just realised that I've been drinking the stuff for like 23 years but I have zero clue what the fuck "Bergamot" is. This requires an investigation. Apparently it's an orange. Wow.

Murder (crimes according to §211 StGB) is the only crime in the German criminal code that can be prosecuted indefinitely.

It is theoretically possible that Klette will be sentenced for attempted murder, but unless she or someone else confesses and explains what concrete steps she took to aid the attempted murder, I consider it unlikely that there will be sufficient evidence. (Like someone can't be charged with murder simply for being a member of the SS, we can't charge people with murder simply for being a member of the RAF.) What remains of her RAF past is mostly membership in a terrorist organization, but the prosecutor's time for that ran out in 2019.

From the late nineties to 2016, there was a series of robberies, she can and will be prosecuted for those, but ~10 years after the crimes, her being sentenced to more than ~6 years of prison would be a surprise. The weapons found in her flat won't help her case.

Probably less about being black but being scum in the eyes of others that makes this a viable choice in cultural expression. I'm not sure which is being violated in my case either. Depends on how charitable you are with the reading. Unlawful entry into public area would be the biggest charge. What is "joining German culture" even supposed to mean? Cos-playing is a "German" in a little green hat and Lederhosen? They can do that all day for all I care.

Germany was ("was" as in: the opposite of "is") a high-trust society with a culture of law and. Immigrants mostly come from low-trust societies and cultures of honor. Low-trust societies value almends less and will see the destruction of almends as less of a violation of norms. (Example: "Alter schwör was juckt dich ist nicht dein Bushaltestelle" -> continues to destroy bus stop). Cultures of honor do not have norms derived from written law and enforced by an executive and judicative branch of government, but derived from tradition, and enforced by a balance of power between power-brokers, mostly clan-leaders. They place a high value on public displays of violent potential, as a deterrent. ("Alter ich hohl kussengs"). Examples of cultures of honor: historically Scotland and Ireland, mountains of the Apennine Peninsula, currently: the Arab world.

Same as you, these people can either be deported or beaten into shape or they will continue to destroy our society. Obviously, Germans have chosen the latter, which is why we will see more doctors being threatened at ER while they try to treat victims of some publicly escalated conflict between muslim clans, more crime in general, and more destruction of public property, which is where this discussion started.

Went out to the garden. I weeded out some areas. Finished reading Yu Dafu's Sinking and then I fucked around with the text a bit to try and render it into Hungarian and see what kind of a tone I could use. Afterwards I also read from the Han Feizi and marked some more passages.

I went in after I started feeling cold. Worked on translating one of Li Si's speeches from the Shiji. I promptly pasted it into the middle of my developing study and sent it to the supervisor to show progress is being made on my research and I also adjusted my goals to be more realistic, as I'm working on this thing alongside my thesis.

I scanned the Rosengartenlied from the library book I borrowed. I know it's online but those scans are terribly brown and high res so I made my own which is fully black and white and should be more e-reader friendly.
This is another one of those things I'd like to work on. It'd be fun to have a Hungarian rendering of this thing.

My mother and father went out to buy groceries so I finally have earl grey tea and cheese and peppers and salami and the like. It's pretty nice to have a light meal. I feel like I can concentrate better with some toast + auxiliary forces and a coffee than with a big lunch.
They also met with an older relative. I think my great-aunt or whatever. Anyway, she said she wanted to hand our part of the family some stuff. I heard a mirror being mentioned and I was thinking that an older relative giving you a mirror is pretty much like in a novel, only for the actual mirror to be just something that can't be older than 30 years.
"I thought this was going to be like a Horthy checked his coat in it once level heirloom. What is this shit?" and my father told me that a mirror like this would be like 70 euros, so it's actually nice to have it in the entrance.
The other part of the gift was some jewelry, and the rationale on her part for giving it was that she's not giving it to her "Whore of a granddaughter". Which is fair enough I guess. I will probably never learn what happened.

I wasted the entire day in essence because I didn't to the writing practice at all so I will miss the deadline completely. I will focus instead on cramming the vocab and also learning to write the lazy way, which is that I will just imagine writing it in my head as the flashcard asks for pinyin and meaning. And I will work on the grammar some more.

Turns out I also have a doctor's appointment for tomorrow, so the entire "day off" thing's kinda fucked because I'm up way too late and I will be tired as fuck unless I sleep some in the afternoon.

Not all of course, but many do. They keep part of their culture like the style of weddings I already know what the schizo will say and such, usually they are sort of bilingual, especially when the parents are not integrated well I's say. But on the other hand they go to work, buy the house in the suburbs if they can, send their kids to school and want them to have it better, go to university etc.
Many first-generation immigrants have problems with that, obviously and especially if they are not going through education. But you know the same is true for Russians here I'd say.

Culture plays a role, certainly but socio-economic standing is stronger. That is why the further you go up the generations the less trouble many of them have and the better integrated they are. This does not mean that people still hate them all, like the schizo. He will just display them as not capable of speaking German. Of course, the kids of Syrian refugees or Iraqis growing up here in the last 10 years won't be super good at German in many cases.
The question of honor is a thing, yeah, but to think that honor did not play a role in Germany is plain bullshit, not everything has to be codified in law to be a phenomenon. I would say that nazis and right wingers have a thing for hnor as well. Honor is a patriarchial and traditionalist category that neatly fits with most conservatisms. It plays less a role these days. But then again German people kill their girlfriend or wife as well if they leave them or have a lover.

The whataboutism is strong with this one.
I would probably agree on the socio-economic thing, but the problem is that 90% of muslim immigrants are the bottom rung of society that their home country is glad to get rid of, i.e. the overlap is so big that it doesn't really matter. And I personally know people with a PhD education who still go full retard if you just so much insinuate their dumb religion is dumb.
Haven't ever had that with christians (the ones who take it seriously enough to react will just turn the other cheek and try to talk you into Jesus).

In my opinion, "integration without assimilation" is a completely wrong approach. Assimilation is the natural end state of successful integration. People can't live between two worlds, no matter what rootless agitators might claim. See also: Almancis, very sad existence.

The root of the problem was certainly how the first gen of guest workers was treated, which was probably the wrongest way to go about it.
I would like to say people in the 20th century were pretty shortsighted, especially between the 50s and 70s, but we today have our own package to carry, but those structures allowed for parallel communities to grow in the first place, and today we have people like you being all apologetic about people not only not attempting to integrate, but simply refusing to adopt the ways of their host country so it can one day become the home country of their children. Sure, they might not have made the problem, but they're not doing anything to better themselves and to rectify any lapse of the past, and neither does our government. Having the great leader Erdowahn telling them to never surrender doesn't help either. In fact, the actual smart people, who can actually contribute something will do their best to NOT associate with those people. A guy I know once explained to me that the people who came here decades ago still have the old country from decades ago in their heads, like a german in Argentina, and things have changed, so he didn't want to have anything to do with them. He was not born in Germany, yet spoke proper german. And that's probably the kind of person you are talking about, but sadly they're rare.

You being in denial about them playing a part in the degeneration of society does not change anything about it. You can see it too, I know that, but you won't accept or admit it because it completely contradicts your worldview that you deem the only correct one. I am not saying it's their fault because they are that evil or something, but it's a structural thing facilitated by the government, like a dog that was never properly trained and keeps shitting in the house.

Regarding atonement: that is not how I think hence it's a no I guess.

I don't think identity politics should be at the forefront of political struggle whether it is coming from the left or right. Try to memorize this for once. Food is produced by bigger and less companies, shelter is getting more expensive, medical support is getting worse (insurance greed and genius Klabauterbach ideas like decreasing the number of hospitals, etc.), education is getting worse and worse (and measurably so), mobility is individual unless you live in a big city. And everything is only getting worse, and while muslims are certainly not responsible for it, they are absolutely a contributing factor. Maybe even just a symptom. They are perfect consoomer cattle, after all. Just what supranational capitalists can wish for. Nationality and tradition are important for the proles, not the bougies.

concentration-processes are a macro-economical necessity and not limited to "capitalism" or market-economies.

Medical support is getting worse because we are paying immense sums for very few very expensive treatment options, often for very old people or very sick people AND because the average age of the population is increasing AND because medicine as a field lacks behind in productivity increases. The last point applies to all low-productivity sectors in developed economies, since low-productivity jobs see similar labor-cost increases as the economy as a whole. Another example: building sector. We still put brick on brick like we did decades ago, then we wonder why building is so expensive. Ridiculous.
The answer to this problem is not cheaper labor from third-world countries, but increased productivity by improved methods and by substituting labor for capital.

The contribution of muslims to the demise of western societies is in part, but not only, due to the following:
a) disproportionate unemployment. These people are averse to secular education, in particular by kuffar teachers, even more so by female kuffar teachers. They do not "get" meritocracy. In their societies of origin, jobs are awarded to strengthen family ties or for sheer bribery. Their average IQ is closer to that of a horde of chimps than to that of educated western societies, partially due to millenia of inbreeding.
b) cost of crime, direct and indirect. They don't "get" our courts, either, by the way. The court translators regular smooth over what these people say in court. They often insult their own lawyers and view the trial as a farce that has been set up against them. Reasoning: the trial is conducted by the out-group, our enemy, I only did what is right by defending my honor/my families honor/the ummahs honor/ because my victim was too weak. Whatever I did is my victims fault, not my fault. These kuffar, even my own lawyer, are here to set me up and cheat me, the only thing I can do to protect my honor is to lash out towards them in every possible way.
c) They, especially their women, have bad health due to spectacularly unhealthy diets and a lack of exercise. Aisha at 45 has the knees of an 80-year old due to being fat and not moving. Women not allowed outside the house, exercise haram for women. Add in incest.

Last time there were debates about 80/20 rule. Here is data in the point:

https://www.gazeta.ru/science/news/2023/02/06/19671949.shtml
> Scientists at Aarhus University have found that the number of young men not having sex is on the rise, calling it an under-addressed health problem. The work was published in The Journal of Bioethics.
> The authors report that between 2000-2002 and 2016-2018, the proportion of men aged 18 to 24 who reported no sexual activity in the past year increased from about 19% to 31%. However, this trend did not apply to women. A similar picture was confirmed in other studies.
> At the same time, the proportion of men who report a large number of sexual partners is also growing. Thus, as of 2002, the most sexually active 5% of American heterosexual men had 38 partners, in 2012 this number became 50. During this period, no changes were found in the number of sexual partners for heterosexual women.
> “Just 5% accounts for half of the world’s heterosexual sexual intercourse. The distribution of sexual partners for both men and women is as unequal as the distribution of wealth in countries with the greatest economic inequality. This sexual inaccessibility may pose a public health problem. Sexual activity, or rather the lack thereof, can negatively affect both a person’s mental and physical health,” the scientists noted.
> This picture of sexual loneliness is not unique to the United States. For example, in Finland, the number of men having difficulty finding a partner doubled from 1992 to 2015.

Just like the existence of a so called middle class, 1:1 relationship ratio, and majority of men procreating at all was merely a historical anomaly of the post-industrial period.
Things are just returning to normal equilibrium: most men don't have sex, either become monks (schizos), die in war (in our case just self destruct), or join the navy (become gay).
Nature is healing.

Under communism, ratio will be even more extreme, as the last of the economic incentives for monogamous relationships get aufhabened.

Well I assumed that "thousands of years" was used as a hyperbole, in the meaning of "myriad" where it just means "a lot" and not the actual etymological number.

Because "thousands of years" is barely anything in the history of our species, so it'd make for a very weak argument for the supposed "normality" of our recent social order, to pick such a tiny slice of an already highly anomalous period of human history.

Do you think your german style of writing comes from nothing?
And obviously it also depends on what the AI was trained on in the first place. If it was trained on english language online sources I'd rather not use any of it, lest you sound like some clickbait online "journalist".
Also, if you don't plan on actually discussing your oevre with actual native speakers, nobody will care anyway, so why bother? Better spend your time on improving your reasoning and content-related aspects of the thesis.

Sure, but I won't read a pile of English literature just to bolster the style of the proposal so it sounds more like a native speaker. That is something for when I will actually know I will go abroad.

>And obviously it also depends on what the AI was trained on in the first place

I think I can judge if I like the suggestions or not. What the AI has been trained on is not relevant in that regard. I did not blindly change everything the AI had suggested. I'm quite good at passive English and have a feeling for what is adequate.

>Better spend your time on improving your reasoning and content-related aspects of the thesis.

I spent most of my time doing this. It's just a polishing operation that took an hour or so.

>if you don't plan on actually discussing your oevre with actual native speaker

Native speakers will read it, hence I'm doing the checks. I could also talk to somebody at my university who is fluent in English but I reckon chatgpt is fine for orthography, grammar and style, at least for this kind of document. It's really about getting some simple suggestions on enhancing readability by cutting down on unnecessary constructions for example or exchanging a word here and there that was missing in my active vocabulary but aids in the precision of what I wanted to bring across anyway.

> to pick such a tiny slice of an already highly anomalous period of human history.
Define "highly anomalous". Such a premise only works under the assumption that human development is linear. Anyway, you say that thousands of years are a short period, but sexual revolution is just a few decades old. And it was built on lies. See:

> Her reports detailing the attitudes towards sex in South Pacific and Southeast Asian traditional cultures influenced the 1960s sexual revolution
> Margaret Mead showed that Samoan girls do not observe virginity, easily enter into premarital sexual relations, society is extremely tolerant of this, and the people of Samoa, as a result, live in harmony and happiness. Unlike repressive America. Consequently, the type of cultural behavior of young American women is not at all a natural state of affairs, but is an externally imposed restriction and must be abolished.
> In reality, as it suddenly turned out, in Samoa there was a society where losing virginity before marriage was considered a severe taboo, much more than in the Puritan communities of Europe. They simply killed for this.
> 50 years have passed and Mead's "research" has been thrown into the trash. Because the book did its job. And the fact that a stupid scumbag, a liar and a scum for many decades swaggered over real scientists, publicly insulted them and “kicked them out of the profession” is the cost of production.

I proposed normality to be defined as the state in which the species spent the most time, he proposed a weird logarithmic approach. Both claims to normality need to be justified, but I find mine to be more common sensical.

Monogamy has been around as a practice for thousands of years, but not everywhere in the world, and not even everywhere in even the societies that had it. Existing is not the same as being pervasive. Furthermore, monogamy and 1:1 relationship ratio is not the same thing: You can have monogamous relationships, but still not every male in society gets to BREED. For example, mongamy can be serial, where one person has 1 partner AT A TIME. Besides, in almost all societies there's a distinction between a wife, and concubine, the latter technically aren't entitled to any claims, because there was no marriage contract / ceremony.

Most men historically didn't BREED, simple as.

>>14061
>Also, old Temüüdschin was probably a special case
worth noting that polygamy was normal practice in turkic societies for "thousands of years", how many wives you had depended on your wealth. Up to 7 wives was allowed. Which means there was a shitload of men who didn't have wives. Probably died in raids and tribal conflicts and shit.
